Chessels Land

Possibly the most salmon-pink buidings you’ll ever see. Again, university land with an amazing variety of places to get moving. Lots and lots to do over this sprawling Parkour haven. Just off the Royal Mile and close to the Parliament and areas down that end of town, you’ll never be short of something to do.

Conditions

In the rain you’ll get soaked, there’s no doubt about that. However, the walls are super-duper-mega-grippy so just get out there and play around in the rain. If you really need shelter (from those evil hail storms) then head towards the Mile and take cover under an archway. The walls here are possibly the grippiest ever constructed, but they do take their toll on your hands – even the most hardened!

Plod

Plod won’t be a problem at all, we’ve had a few chats with them especially at the ‘disabled rails’ area on the Holyrood Road side but only from curious bobbies passing by on their beat. As with George Square, the university security guards are nice but they will ask you to leave if they see you, unless you’re a uni student. If you have a quick chat to them politely then they might let you stay a while outside of uni hours.

Supplies

Head onto the Mile and there’s a newsagent just up the road.

Watch your back

It’s practically deserted, except for the occasional group of goths in the evenings.

PK Heaven

Practically the closest thing to a Parkour heaven that we have, possibly. Nothing much else to say!

Overall

Go to Chessel’s and go often, seriously. What’re you doing reading this?
